In a clip from this week’s “Bright Eyes” episode of X-Men ’97, Rogue goes rogue. However, in that clip, she is not taking aim at a supervillain. Rogue is seen flying over a desert at the start of the video, then breaking into a military camp by force. Then, armed soldiers and a robot face Rogue, and a voice informs her that she is intruding. But before the voice can say anything more, Rogue strikes, smashing the robot into a wall and then the ground she fell on to take out the soldiers. Rogue then engages in combat with two additional robots, one of which ambushed her from behind. The scene changes to a monitor screen at the end of the video, suggesting that someone is watching Rogue.

Before X-Men ’97 debuted, the “Bright Eyes” episode summary was released along with other episode synopses. The description for “Bright Eyes” said that Cyclops “focuses the X-Men on finding Sentinel inventor Bolivar Trask,” but upon Trask’s discovery, “they all realize that they have all been played by a mastermind.” Head director Jake Castorena hinted that Rogue might find it difficult to accept the deaths of Magneto and Gambit in “Remember It,” saying, “I implore audiences to ponder and be curious about what that would do to someone of Roque’s caliber and potentially, I would say focus less on what we have lost and I would focus more on who or what lies ahead, if that makes sense for you.” Before this clip was released. However, Castorena said, in the end, Gambit and Magneto are dead, and we’ll have to wait and see how the series plays out to learn more about the implications for not only our team but perhaps possibly the rest of the world.

Directors Emi Yonemura and Chase Conley then talked about how the Genosha catastrophe will intensify X-Men ’97 leading up to the season finale. Yonemura said, “I think we were kind of wondering that too when we read that script.” How do you expand beyond this? But we do, so get ready!” “You don’t want to spend too much time on certain scenes or put too much into certain scenes that are not the big spectacle,” Conley said. “You simply have to follow the narrative’s natural flow, and this is equally crucial given the season’s scale. As we previously indicated, Season 1 keeps getting more intense. It’s undoubtedly a roller coaster.”
