There will be further details provided on Kingpin’s survival of a close-range bullet wound to the dome in the Hawkeye epilogue. D’Onofrio played Kingpin in the first Daredevil series, and he finally made his long-awaited comeback in Hawkeye. A pivotal scene shows how Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin, is challenged by his “niece,” Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox). Although the gunshot was audible rather than seen, it appeared as though Maya had shot Kingpin in the face, killing him. Kingpin has subsequently been confirmed to have lived; according to Echo advertising materials, he appears to have only suffered an eye damage during the attack. Marvel fans have been debating this a lot, and speculations about how the character may have survived have been sparked. The good news is that D’Onofrio says all will be revealed in Echo about Kingpin’s survival, according to sources.

“Those who enjoy the classic comics of Kingpin and Daredevil are aware that Kingpin is immortal,” D’Onofrio jokingly said. “We just needed to come up with a really cool idea for how we could bring that shot into Echo and move on from it in a clever way,” said the team. He does sustain severe injuries. D’Onofrio’s comments appear to indicate that his character’s survival would be thoroughly addressed in Echo, without giving away any particular spoilers. Considering how the upcoming show delves more on Echo’s adoptive uncle’s destructive relationship, it makes perfect sense. The show’s creative team has cautioned viewers that, despite their disagreements, Echo is not a superhero and would be better defined as a “villain,” which leaves room for the character’s conflicts with other characters like as Daredevil. The reason it’s the first MCU series with a TV-MA classification is that fans can anticipate it being far more brutal than other Marvel episodes on Disney+.
