In the midst of a significant creative overhaul, Daredevil: Born Again fires its lead writers.

Plans for Daredevil: Born Again have undergone a significant alteration. An updated source claims that Daredevil: Born Again has been restarted after being halted due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Despite the fact that less than half of the show’s 18 episodes had been produced, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige felt that the project “wasn’t working.” Head writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman were thus quietly fired, and the directors hired to film the remaining episodes were also fired. Since then, the search for new authors and directors has started. According to the source, Disney+ officials are seeking to alter how they approach shows created for the Marvel Cinematic Universe due to the series’ declining ratings and critical praise, as was the case with Secret Invasion’s underwhelming reception. Moving ahead, Disney+ will switch to creating television content in a more “traditional” manner. We’re attempting to merge the Marvel culture with the traditional television culture, according to Marvel’s president of streaming, TV, and animation, Brad Winderbaum. What matters is, “How can we produce television tales that honour what is so wonderful about the original material?

Additionally, information about the rationale behind the creative overhaul of Daredevil: Born Again during filming has been made public. The problem was that Ord and Corman’s project, which was more of a legal procedural drama, felt too unlike to the action-packed three-season Daredevil serial. Given that Cox allegedly did not don the Daredevil costume until the fourth episode, it appears that Marvel Studios felt that Born Again was not interesting enough in its current form. Although Marvel has stated that it would “keep some scenes and episodes,” it is possible that most of what was shot will be dropped and replaced with other serialised aspects. As executive producers, Ord and Corman are still involved. Despite these behind-the-scenes challenges, Daredevil: Born Again was described in the article as a two-season series, indicating that there are apparently plans to continue the show for at least one more season. As part of this new strategy for Marvel series, showrunners will be hired, show bibles will be created, and pilots will be shot in order to more accurately gauge a show’s potential before ordering full seasons.
