James Cameron is known for his expansive vision and innovative special-effects films, most notably Titanic (1997), for which he won an Academy Award for best director, and Avatar (2009). In 2022 Cameron released Avatar: The Way of Water, which he directed and co-wrote.
While the filmmaker promoted his recent project, he was inevitably asked about Marvel and its many popular movies.
The visionary director has admitted to supporting Thanos’s idea of depopulation and it appears that he’s a Snap sympathizer.
During his recent interview he Stated that “I can relate to Thanos. I thought he had a pretty viable answer. The problem is nobody is going to put up their hand to volunteer to be the half that has to go.”
Cameron gave credit to Marvel Studios and their VFX effects, explaining that “the rising tide of technique raises everybody together:”
His sentiments aren’t too surprising, given his support of environmental and climate activism. He seems not to worry about the marvel universe because he wants to stick with his Avatar Franchises.
Also, Josh Brolin’s (Thanos) villain of Avengers thought the best course of action for existence was to wipe out half of the universe’s population.
