Josh Brolin is still hiding information about a potential Cable reprisal of Deadpool and Wolverine

Regarding if Cable will return for Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine, Josh Brolin won’t say yes or no. The Deadpool 2 actor has been asked several times during the Dune: Part Two press conference if he will be playing the time-traveling cybernetic soldier Cable again in the upcoming sequel, Deadpool & Wolverine. Brolin has, meanwhile, avoided answering the subject in an interview. Yes, of course. When asked if he will be in the film by the GMA hosts, he said, “I don’t know.” “No, no. My bookkeeper will verify. I’m not sure if that’s funny or not. Indeed. No. Perhaps. Possibly.” In the 2018 film Deadpool 2, Brolin makes his first and thus far only appearance as Cable. Given how warmly viewers reacted to the actor’s performance, some fans might be shocked to hear that Brolin wasn’t Cable’s first choice. Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld verified in December 2023 a long-running rumour that Brad Pitt was originally scheduled to play Cable in Deadpool 2 until Brolin was chosen. Before Brolin agreed to portray the X-Men character, Michael Shannon was also asked to play Cable. Pitt played the mutant Vanisher in Deadpool 2, however Shannon did not appear in the film.

Actors from Marvel who are questioned about Deadpool and Wolverine include Brolin. After the first teaser for the film showed that the Time Variance Authority was a part of the film, Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was recently questioned at ComfestCon Kuwait if the God of Stories will appear in the threequel. “If I did know, I wouldn’t know,” I might not be permitted to inform you,” he remarked. “I really have no idea… Marvel appropriately withholds information so that the shocks are shown right away when you see the film for the first time. The trailer seems fantastic, I’ve seen it.” Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds, who played Wade Wilson/Deadpool and Logan/Wolverine in the X-Men film series, respectively, are reprising their roles. The highly anticipated threequel will have both of these beloved mutants joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Stefan Kapičić as Colossus, Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio, and Rob Delaney as Peter are also returning from previous Deadpool films. New characters joining the franchise are Emma Corrin from The Crown and Matthew Macfadyen from Succession.
