Josh Brolin has made no secret of his desire to play Cable again in the next Deadpool & Wolverine film. To the actor’s dismay, it has become increasingly evident over time that he will not, in fact, be taking on the role again. When Brolin was questioned about his part as Cable in an interview, the interviewer brought up his inclusion on the cast list of Deadpool & Wolverine on IMDb. “Am I?” Brolin questioned. When that was confirmed, he yelled, “Yeeeeessss! I really wanted to star in that film. “Marvel is a more complex labyrinth than Outer Range will ever be, my friend,” the actor, who played Cable in Deadpool 2, said when he announced that he would not be coming back. And now that the MCU is involved, I’ll never know where it went, what that is, or what I’m or am not participating in. Fun times with Cable abound. I had a great time playing that part. It was a great deal of pleasure. This is the third installment in the Ryan Reynolds-led series, Deadpool & Wolverine. The actor has declared his affection for the Merc With a Mouth and has battled valiantly to secure the movie’ R certification. David Leitch, who oversaw the trilogy’s second entry, will helm this movie again. Leitch most recently worked on Ryan Gosling’s action-packed movie, The Fall Guy. In Deadpool & Wolverine, Hugh Jackman—America’s favorite Canadian aside from Ryan Reynolds—returns to his cherished role as Wolverine.
Though he isn’t in the movie, Brolin nevertheless thinks highly of Jackman and the movie overall. “Hugh Jackman, I’m infatuated with you,” he exclaimed. “I’ve met Hugh a few times and now know Ryan Reynolds, and I believe that when he met Logan—forget it! The author, Scott Frank, is a close friend of mine, and I believe it’s amazing how these characters came to be. And Hugh, I have no idea how old he is anymore—is he 56 or 57? I swear, this guy never gets old. Thus, yes. I think he’s fantastic.
