After playing O.B. in Marvel Studios’ Loki Season 2 Disney+ series, Ke Huy Quan has just secured a prominent part in the upcoming action film With Love, which is directed by the same team who brought us Deadpool 2. According to sources, Quan has won a prominent part in With Love after winning an Academy Award for his portrayal in A24’s hugely popular and critically acclaimed film Everything Everywhere All at Once. The directorial and producing duo behind The Fall Guy, David Leitch (Deadpool 2), and Kelly McCormick’s 87North (Bullet Train), are behind the action movie. The film is being developed by Universal, which just released Christopher Nolan’s highly successful blockbuster Oppenheimer, which brought in about $1 billion. Jonathan Eusebio, who previously worked as a second unit director on films including Deadpool 2 and the Disney+ Obi-Wan Kenobi TV series, is about to make his directorial debut. The premise of the movie and the role Quan will play in With Love are still mostly unknown. Luke Passmore is supposedly penning the film based on an original script written by Josh Stoddard, who wrote the script for the martial arts television series Warrior, and Matthew Murray. Guy Danella will create under the 87North moniker, in association with Leitch and McCormick. The project will also be supervised by Tony Ducret, Director of project Development at Universal, and Jay Polidoro, Executive Vice President of Production Development.

The actor had already dabbled in martial arts and action films before landing the iconic, action-packed part in Everything Everywhere All at Once. Quan also worked as a stunt rigger and assistant fight choreographer on Marvel’s first successful comic book movie, X-Men, more than 20 years ago. The majority of viewers will also recall Quan for his beloved roles as Short Round and Data in the classic flicks Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Together with Stephanie Hsu and Michelle Yeoh from Everything Everywhere All at Once, he most recently starred in American Born Chinese, another Disney+ series. After working as the fight coordinator on Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange and the stunt coordinator on Black Panther, Eusebio also has a long-standing relationship with Marvel. He coordinated the fights for The Fate of the Furious and John Wick: Chapter 2, among other noteworthy films. AMC’s martial arts action series Into the Badlands, which aired for three seasons, included writing and production credits from writer Stoddard in addition to his work on Warrior, With Love.
