Kevin Feige’s joke from Civil War in Captain America 4 might finally come true

Rumors say that the most recent MCU film, Captain America: New World Order, may finally make Marvel Studios CEO Kevin Feige’s 2014 joke about the title of Captain America: Civil War come true (via ScreenRant). Anthony Mackey will assume the role of Captain America in the fourth Captain America movie, which is slated to hit theatres in May 2024 and follow Disney+’s Falcon and the Winter Soldier.Rumors say that ten years after Civil War, the upcoming movie may finally bring the famed Serpent Society from Marvel Comics to the MCU. Feige first referred to the project as Captain America: Serpent Society in 2014, misleading fans as to the plot of the second Captain America movie. Naturally, this turned out to be nothing more than a prank. New speculations, however, indicate that New World Order could at last collaborate with the Serpent Society on the newest Captain America project.

Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson will be joined by a cast of familiar and unfamiliar MCU characters in Captain America: New World Order, a Phase 5 movie that will be released on the big screen. Tim Blake Nelson’s The Leader, who first debuted in The Incredible Hulk, and Carl Lumbly, who will be repeating his role as Isaiah Bradley, are among the returning characters. Harrison Ford, who will replace the late William Hurt in the character of Thunderbolt Ross, and Shira Haas, who will make her acting debut as Sabra, a new mutant hero from Israel, are also expected to be among the new faces. However, the hiring of Xosha Roquemore in an as-of-yet-undisclosed part is perhaps the most convincing rumour regarding the next movie. Although theories strongly suggest that Roquemore will be making her MCU debut as Rachel Leighton—better known as Diamondback of the Serpent Society—the actress could be playing any number of roles in the MCU. This has led some fans to speculate that the Serpent Society may appear in the MCU in 2024.

Rumors regarding the plot of Captain America: New World Order have started to spread among fans as filming for the movie nears, in part due to Marvel’s numerous casting calls for the new project. A significant member of the Serpent Society may be scheduled to appear, according to casting calls that have been made public.

The superhero, whose real name is Diamondback, has already made an appearance in Luke Cage, a Marvel film. After Marvel published an active casting call identifying the character, a recast of the role may be in the works for the Captain America fourquel. The casting call is reportedly searching for a “female, mid-to-early 30-year-old, open ethnicity lead” to take the part of Diamondback, according to hit-and-miss MCU insider Daniel Richtman.

Diamondback was first introduced as a villain in the Luke Cage comics, for those who are not as familiar with the lengthy background of Marvel Comics. While Rachel Leighton’s Diamondback made her debut in 1985 and has occasionally been Steve Rogers’ Captain America’s love interest, current reports imply that the New World Order’s Diamondback may really be Ford’s Thunderbolt Ross. Roquemore’s function is yet unknown. Nevertheless, it appears plausible that the Serpent Society might infiltrate the MCU as early as next year given Richtman’s claim that the MCU has been actively seeking an actress to play Diamondback.
