After growing concerns and criticisms about the pace, only two MCU shows could be released in 2023 as part of a new Marvel show release plan.
There is a difference between D+ relying on Marvel/Star Wars and the insanely rigid release schedule of the past couple of years. They were literally releasing some sort of “content” from one of these two franchises every single week even if it was a boring behind the scenes doc between series. This caused a lot of post-production issues and also the quality Problem for them.
Secret Invasion and Loki season 2 are the only MCU shows releasing in 2023, which represents a significant shift in the Phase 5 slate. It was originally expected that nine MCU movies and shows would be released this year. This number has already gone down. This means that shows such as Echo, Iron heart, Agatha: Coven of Chaos, and even the animated, What If…? Season 2 may not arrive until much later than initially planned, and according to sources, only Loki season 2 and Secret Invasion are sure to arrive this year. How this will impact the overall Marvel slate is not yet clear.
