Marvel fans argue over Ant-Man allusion in the Deadpool and Wolverine trailer

It should come as no surprise that Marvel fans are dissecting the official Deadpool & Wolverine trailer frame by frame. Many have conjectured about Ant-Man’s destiny after seeing his enormous helmet and head in one of the pictures. Following Ryan Reynolds’ YouTube video, people are conjecturing about Ant-Man’s involvement in the Deadpool and Wolverine movie. The image in question shows the depersonalized and empty helmet of Scott Lang, played by Paul Rudd, the hero. In the teaser, Emma Corrin’s character from The Crown, Cassandra Nova, the movie’s antagonist, uses it as her headquarters. Given that Nova is, kind of, Professor Charles Xavier’s sister, she will be an especially scary opponent in the movie. As a parasitic clone of Xavier that the future leader of the X-Men destroyed in the womb with his latent psychic talents, Nova appears in comic books as a Mummudrai, or anti-self. Nevertheless, Nova lived, and in contrast to other Mummudrai, she developed a corporeal form and turned into a telepath like to Xavier. Her powers are many and include mind control, memory erasing, and the ability to create both physical and mental shields. She is also capable of projecting her awareness and detecting mutations across a large area. Additionally, Nova has demonstrated her capacity to duplicate DNA, which gives her the potential to pilfer and magnify mutant abilities. All in all, a strong foe who will undoubtedly present a difficult battle to Wolverine and the Merc With a Mouth.

Deadpool and Wolverine’s whereabouts are unclear, particularly because the Time Variance Authority (TVA) is involved. As a result, while it is obvious that Ant-Man falls, it is unclear exactly when in the MCU’s timeline he does so. Fans felt the helmet that had been transformed into a villain base looked similar to a scene from the Disney+ series Loki. Though there are several Easter eggs in Loki Season 1, Episode 5 (from the Thanos helicopter to Throg), one of the most significant ones was a massive replica of Darren Cross’ Yellowjacket helmet. As soon as fans saw the similarities between the two sequences, several conjectured that Ant-Man and Yellowjacket clashed and defeated one another. Additionally, some fans have claimed that Pym Falls, a hamlet that appears in the Old Man Logan series, is clearly referenced in the warped Ant-Man cameo. In Earth-807128, the Marvel villains have triumphed and divided the United States among themselves, christening places in honor of vanquished heroes or victorious villains. Hank Pym, also known as Ant-Man, made his last stand near Pym Falls, Connecticut, and his massive skeleton now stands as a memorial to the heroes’ failure. There are more parallels being made between Loki and the Deadpool & Wolverine clip than helmet-gate. Matthew Macfayden from Succession portrays Paradox, an agent of the TVA, the organization at the core of the Disney+ series. “This Wolverine let down his entire world,” Macfayden’s character says Deadpool, implying that the Logan in the movie is not the same as the one that audiences have seen in earlier motion pictures. Another scene shows Deadpool and Wolverine launching themselves through a vortex that seems like it was created by Wong or Dr. Strange.
