Deadpool may have a big movie coming out next month, but it doesn’t seem like it will be enough to keep the Merc with a Mouth alive and well in the Marvel Universe since Marvel revealed today that Deadpool will pass away in September! Of course, things could not be as they seem, as previous plots have shown us, but for the time being, Marvel is getting fans ready for an exciting new chapter in Deadpool comic book history. Deadpool, the last issue of the first narrative arc of Cody Ziglar and Rogê Antônio’s Deadpool book, will include the historic tale. Taurin Clarke’s cover art, which has a villain’s hands unsettlingly protruding from Deadpool’s chest, is startling.
“This is the first issue of a new era and killing Deadpool NOW would be an INSANE thing to do,” the cover teaser for Deadpool #6 says. It is the precise reason we’re taking this action. Death Grip, the new antagonist for Deadpool that was unveiled in this story arc, has been devoting his life to eliminating the “unkillable” Deadpool, and it seems like he may be winning. Marvel said in a press release about the issue, “With Wade Wilson’s passing in September, Cody Ziglar and Rogê Antônio’s DEADPOOL run hits a startling turning point! A major announcement regarding the start of a brand-new period of the series in DEADPOOL #6 will be made in the coming weeks. Once more, the meaning of Wade Wilson’s “death” is still unknown because the tale is only getting started in a Deadpool issue, but Marvel is reportedly planning to provide additional details about the plot soon.
