Marvel Studios is developing a project called Adventure Into Fear.

A new rumour suggests that Marvel Studios is planning to take the Marvel Cinematic Universe on yet another terrifying journey. The project in question is named Adventure Into Fear, after a horror comic that starred Man-Thing; however, as the post notes, there is “currently no information on what Adventure Into Fear is about.” This information comes from film insider Daniel Richtman. The Adventure Into Fear collection also included Howard the Duck and Morbius.

The Scarlet Witch Updates on X account, which appropriately has a picture of Man-Thing, posted the rumour. Since Jennifer Kale first appeared in the comic, the post also conjectures that she might appear in Adventure Into Fear. Jennifer Kale will appear in Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, where she will be portrayed by Sasheer Zamata, whose picture and one of Jennifer herself are the other two images alongside the cover. As of right now, though, neither Marvel nor Disney have formally stated that they are working on a project similar to Adventure Into Fear. This is not the first time the Adventure Into Fear moniker has been attached to a project; in 2019, Marvel Television made an attempt to connect the unmade Ghost Rider series and Helstrom on Hulu under the same moniker. We began talking about the same thing: according to Marvel Head of TV Jeph Loeb at the time, there is a comic book character group called the Spirit of Vengeance. They are a peculiar group of characters that include Ghost Rider, Hellstrom, and Hellstrom’s sister, Anna. Abruptly, we realised we could combine three or four shows into what we now call Adventure Into Fear.

Loeb continued by explaining that Adventure Into Fear was actually “terror,” since the word “horror” can mean a lot of different things. We adore the idea of presenting a Marvel superhero who, at first, was genuinely feared and thought to be a monster, but who, as the stories progress, comes to understand that, oh, he concluded, he is actually the story’s hero rather than its villain. We’ve never done anything like that before. Refocusing attention on the macabre Man-Thing, executive producer Brian Gay of Werewolf by Night announced in 2022 that the lycanthrope of the same name as well as the character would make appearances in upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe projects. However, the exact date and location of their appearances are still unknown.
