Marvel’s New Loki Is Stronger Than Thanos and Galactus Taken Together

Spread MCU News

A Loki variation known as Avenger Prime was described in Avengers #65 as having greater strength than any of the major Marvel supervillains combined.

In Avengers #65, which is also titled “The Secret History of Avenger Prime,” it is explained how this Loki version got to be the most potent force in his reality. However, Avenger Prime reveals that despite losing every other living thing in his reality save for himself, he was able to fight villains like Galactus, Thanos, Red Skull, Gorr the God Butcher, Celestials, and more. Even when Avenger Prime vanquishes a squad of Mephistos and a wave of Dooms, the Avengers have cause to be suspicious of him.

The Most Powerful Avenger Is Now Loki

Following up from Avengers Forever #13, Jason Aaron, Javier Garrón, and David Curiel pen Avengers #65. Throughout the Marvel Multiverse, heroes are summoned by the enigmatic Avenger Prime to protect Avengers Tower against Mephisto and his clones. In Free Comic Book Day Avengers/Hulk #1, Marvel first hinted at Avenger Prime as the team’s most potent member ever while concealing his identity. The persona has been spotted with a green suit and tie along with a mask-like Thor helmet. The Mephisto crew was defeated at the end of the issue, but Doom Supreme and his clones were getting ready to launch an attack. In order to face the Doom Army alone, Avenger Prime stood up, unmasking himself, and stating, “For in all the various worlds, one thing is always consistent.” Without Loki to unite them, “you cannot have the Avengers.” Loki’s magic has a dissolving effect, as seen in Avengers #65.

Aaron’s tenure with the squad comes to an end in Avengers #65. The last issue from the “Avengers Assemble” arc, written by Aaron, Garrón, Kuder, Jim Towe, Ivan Fiorelli, and others, can be found in Avengers Assemble Omega. Despite the fact that Jed MacKay and C.F. Villa’s Avengers will begin publication in May 2023, Aaron’s run of the Avengers will end on April 19, 2023, and Marvel will swiftly restart the series.

Cover art for Avengers #65 was created by Garron and Curiel, with alternate covers created by Leinil Francis Yu and Marte Gracia. Marte Gracia, Pepe Larraz, Rachelle Rosenberg, and Logan Lubera. Marvel is currently selling the issue.
