MCU: 5 future films Chris Evans’ Captain America could reappear in

Spread MCU News

Chris Evans, one of the pillars of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), hasn’t been seen since he passed on the mantle and shield to Sam Wilson in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame. However, in a recent interview, Anthony Mackie (who portrays Sam Wilson) hinted that Steve Rogers/Captain America is still alive in the MCU. With the current multiverse storyline in the MCU, fans are speculating that Evans could potentially return as Steve Rogers/Captain America in the upcoming slate of movies. Here are the top five movies where fans could potentially see Chris Evans’ return to the MCU.

First on the list is Captain America: New World Order, which will be Anthony Mackie’s first solo movie as Captain America. As a sequel, a Chris Evans cameo could easily fit in as Steve Rogers reunites with Sam Wilson for guidance or reassurance. With rumors about Sebastian Stan potentially returning as Bucky Barnes, it would also facilitate a reunion between the three heroes. A comeback here would most likely see Steve Rogers as the older and wiser mentor, guiding the new Avengers leader.

Second on the list is Avengers: Secret Wars, the sixth installment in the Avengers series, where rumors have been circulating that this could be the biggest comic book movie event in history. With the introduction of Battleworld, which features multiple Variants of countless characters from across the Multiverse, Evans could potentially make a comeback as an alternate-universe Variant of Captain America. This would give him a chance to get back into action for one last go.

Third on the list is Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, which will see Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror unleashing hell on the Avengers, with rumors teasing a return of Sam Wilson’s Captain America. However, this could also present a small window for Steve Rogers to appear in a smaller role, offering guidance and leadership to Sam Wilson and the Avengers for a moment. There’s also a small chance that a Multiversal Steve Rogers could come into play from another dimension.

Fourth on the list is Deadpool 3, the first Marvel Studios movie where the Multiverse will truly “crack open” and make its impact felt across the entire franchise. Although Chris Evans may not be the first choice fans think of when imagining who could cameo in this threequel, there’s a rumor that Deadpool 3 will visit other Marvel franchises, specifically mentioning Evans’ Fantastic Four team as one of the franchises that will be explored. This would reunite Evans with Ioan Gruffudd (Mr. Fantastic), Jessica Alba (Sue Storm), and Michael Chiklis (The Thing).

Last on the list is an untitled Avengers 6, which could potentially include all of the Variants from the Multiverse. This would be the most likely opportunity for Steve Rogers to make a return, especially as the Avengers face off against a massive threat that requires every hero available.

Although Chris Evans’ return to the MCU has not been confirmed, fans can still hope for his return in any of these upcoming movies. With the MCU expanding and exploring the multiverse, the possibilities are endless, and fans are excited to see what the future holds.
