Without a doubt, Vanessa will make a comeback in Deadpool 3. It was previously unclear if Morena Baccarin would return to her role as Vanessa in the Deadpool sequel. She expressed hope to return in an interview with Michael Rosenbaum’s podcast, but cautioned that the casting might not work out. The rumours that Baccarin was in talks to play Vanessa in the movie surfaced in April, indicating that perhaps the stars had finally aligned for her comeback. Baccarin has now verified that she does indeed feature in the film, revealing that she has already finished filming her scenes for the production in a recent YouTube interview with Josh Wildling. “It did work out,” Baccarin declared. “I’ve already completed my shooting days for it. After the strike, the movie is currently back in production, and I believe it will be really good. Fans should be in for a fun surprise, I think.”

Naturally, Baccarin isn’t giving away any information about the movie or the specifics of her roles. In response to the question of whether Vanessa should finally don the blue skin of Copycat at this point, Baccarin grinned and said, “I think yes.” However, I believe that a vast universe is also vying for her attention.” Given the “very large universe” Vanessa would be competing with in Deadpool 3, Baccarin’s suggestion that there won’t be much time to explore her story makes a lot of sense. She will be just one of the many significant comebacks in the movie, which most notably features the return of Ryan Reynolds’s Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. There are a tonne of other big return and special appearance rumours floating around, but with so many characters, it’s likely that many of them won’t get much screen time.
