The actor was pushed under and crushed by his snowplough on January 1 while attempting to prevent it from falling and striking his adult nephew, according to an incident report from the Nevada sheriff’s office that Variety received.

According to the report, Renner exited “the vehicle without setting the emergency break” as the large equipment started sliding sideways after he used the plough to tow his nephew’s truck out of the snow. The report also mentions that the brake indicator light inside the snowcat’s cab was not working and that “mechanical issues may have been a factor in this accident.”

The parking brake would prevent the Pistenbully from driving forward, according to our mechanical assessment, even if the vehicle had certain mechanical problems. Renner was ran over while he attempted to halt or deflect the Pistenbully in order to prevent harm coming to (his nephew). Until emergency medical assistance came on the scene and had the “Avengers” actor evacuated to the hospital, Renner’s nephew assisted the injured man.

Renner was hospitalised with acute chest trauma and orthopaedic injuries after the snowplough accident that resulted in over 30 shattered bones. Renner has regularly updated his followers on his health via social media while he recovers and receives physical therapy. After leaving the hospital, Renner went back to his house. He essentially broke the news himself when he posted on social media to express his excitement for watching the season premiere of his Paramount+ series “Mayor of Kingstown” at home.
