New look at the spectacular Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

The Spider Society, a collection of Spider-People from all around the Multiverse directed by Miguel O’Hara, a.k.a. Spider-Man 2099, is first introduced in “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.” A further problem for the filmmakers will be how to balance Todd McFarlane’s and Keith Giffen’s artwork in the sequel. Josh Keaton’s portrayal of Spidey from “The Spectacular Spider-Man” makes his feature film debut. He will appear in the movie alongside Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, Peter B. Parker, and other Spider-People.

Kemp Powers, the film’s co-director, claimed that hundreds of Spider-People will continuously come out on screen, including some of his favorite characters who only appear for a brief period of time. A large number of artists were hired as consultants to help with character designs and provide direction to the animation team. This allowed them to be properly developed and drawn to be reflective of their comic book origins and the eras they appeared in. On June 2, “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” will launch in theatres.
