Viewers may get a first peek at the upcoming film in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe by watching the Kraven the Hunter teaser. Some fans thought the hazy shared reality was actually related to a prior film portrayal of the webslinger because Spidey hasn’t appeared there. It’s unfortunate that the movie’s trailer makes it clear that’s not the case. Kraven the Hunter’s actual antagonist is none other than The Rhino, a rival of Spider-Man. The legendary antagonist’s portrayal in the film is very distinctive, making it simple to distinguish him from the one seen in another Spider-Man film. There is therefore no possibility that the Spider-Man of this world is the one that Andrew Garfield has portrayed in previous roles.
The first look of Kraven the Hunter’s ferocious antagonist may be seen at the end of the trailer. The character, played by Alessandro Nivola, jokingly inquires as to if anyone else is aware of the origin of his nickname “The Rhino”.Then he is seen utilising a serum or injection that turns his arm into the rough skin of a rhino, effectively supporting his moniker. The only thing we see of the villain is his distinctive forehead horn. This would probably be kept under wraps until another trailer or perhaps the film’s theatrical premiere, which could be for the best. The terrible refutation of a fan-favorite notion hinders how well this would promote the film in terms of creating buzz.
The representation of the Rhino in Kraven the Hunter is very different from how he appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, proving that this universe is separate from that of the Andrew Garfield film and its predecessor. The Earth name granted to the SSU in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse had hinted at this, and it’s now official. This means that the Web-Head originally portrayed by Andrew Garfield won’t be there when Spider-Man arrives to battle Kraven and the other bad guys in this dimension. This hypothesis is finally put to rest in the film, shattering what some fans believed to be plot seeds for a future Spider-Man movie.
Some fans believed that the world of the Amazing Spider-Man films was the same as the one depicted in Venom and its sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage because of the events in Spider-Man: No Way Home. In contrast to Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man, Andrew Garfield’s has three alien foes dispatched from his reality. Venom, who had also been moved following the events of Let There Be Carnage, was supposed to be the third “villain” from The Amazing Spider-Man, according to the hypothesis. Garfield Peter’s ambition to battle an extraterrestrial, like the other two Spider-Men, encouraged this.
The Venom films’ visual style and overall tone partially complemented Garfield’s darker Spider-Man films. The notion of a third installment in The Amazing Spider-Man series arose from his probable conflict with Venom or the Sinister Six. Although there were previously indications to the contrary, it is now abundantly evident that this will not occur. One was that the two universes had separate identification codes: Earth-120703 and Earth-688, respectively. If this wasn’t evidence enough, the Ravencroft Institute is shown in the movies as being located both New York and California.
It’s also important to remember that the extraterrestrial Venom symbiote was seen in a vat during The Amazing Spider-Man 2’s climax, and it’s highly unlikely that this symbiote was the same one that eventually fused with Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock. It’s hard to reconcile these two extremely different universes as being one, especially given that no one in this planet has ever heard of Spider-Man. The last straw in the idea is Rhino, who is nothing like Paul Giamatti’s armoured version of the evil. With that, fans and viewers will probably have to accept the truth that No Way Home marked Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man’s inevitable demise as the character.
