One Spider-Person may be broken beyond repair in Beyond the Spider-Verse

Miguel O’Hara, also known as Spider-Man 2099, was debuted in Across the Spider-Verse as the head of the Spider Society and the main protector of the Spider-Verse. He discussed with Miles the canon events that each Spider-Man experiences during their lives. One is the assassination of a police captain by his archenemy, which for Miles would mean the murder of his father. Miguel went out on a mission to stop Miles from destroying the canon, while Miles set out to stop this. At first, Miles thought his father would be killed by the Spot. But with his unshakeable commitment to upholding the canon at whatever cost, Miguel O’Hara could be the one to put Jefferson to death in Beyond the Spider-Verse. These choices might solve Miles’ difficulties with leading a life that wasn’t originally his while simultaneously opening a floodgate for the multiverse.

Miguel lost his family, searched the multiverse until he discovered a reality where he had passed away, and then he changed into his version, as was revealed in Across the Spider-Verse. Once more, he had a family. But by doing so, the realm collapsed and took his family with it, breaking the canon. He never tampered with the canon after that and made every effort to prevent others from doing the same. Miguel could be trying to prevent Miles from protecting his family because he fears losing his own. He is aware of his connection to his existence as Spider-Man. The spider bit him, and that was the last of him. Even if it requires him to go through a terrible catastrophe, he is content with that. This puts him at odds with Miles since Miles’ persona reflects the fact that he was never meant to be Spider-Man. For the sake of being a hero, he cannot bear to lose all he cherishes. This refusal to make the required sacrifices, though, may eventually put the multiverse in peril. Miguel then has the responsibility of making sure that everything continues to function as it should given his role as the Spider Society’s leader. That includes knowing for sure that Jefferson will pass away, so be it.

Jefferson’s passing might in many respects have a significant impact on the multiverse as a whole. One fascinating question it could raise for Miles is if he wants to cease becoming Spider-Man. At the conclusion of Across the Spider-Verse, Miles is already struggling with the realisation that none of his pals are who he thought they were. If this is already causing Miles this much suffering, he may think about giving up before he causes harm to someone he cares about. Miguel killing Jefferson, though, may have negative effects of its own. He should be killed by Spider-Man’s arch-enemy, not by another Spider-Man. This means the Spot to Miles. However, if Miles were to overcome him, Miguel O’Hara would probably be held accountable for Jefferson’s demise. Miguel might cause more damage if he attempts to preserve the multiverse by guaranteeing that death occurs because he is not Miles’s chosen adversary. Despite the potential effects this could have on both characters, multiverse storylines frequently contain wobbling solutions that solve one problem while creating another.
