A magnificent piece of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse fan art transforms Oscar Isaac’s Spider-Man 2099 from animated to live-action. The intricate artwork, posted on Instagram by digital artist Subi zil, depicts Isaac’s Spider-Man 2099 unmasked and flying through the air. One of the key characters in Across the Spider-Verse and the creator of the Spider-Society, a squad of Spider-People entrusted with guarding the universe against significant dangers, Isaac made his screen debut as the character towards the conclusion of 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. In the third and concluding installment of the Spider-Verse trilogy, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, which has not yet been released, Isaac will return to the role of Spider-Man 2099. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which is set 16 months after Into the Spider-Verse, follows Miles Morales/Spider-Man (Shameik Moore) as he and Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman (Hailee Steinfeld) are propelled across the Multiverse on a quest to stop The Spot (Jason Schwartzman). Similar to Into the Spider-Verse, the 2023 sequel received positive reviews and did well at the box office, earning $689 million worldwide. The much-loved animated superhero film can now be rented and purchased online, with a physical release on Blu-ray and 4K UHD scheduled for September 5. There will be nearly 90 minutes of special supplementary content included with the home release.

The final scene of Across the Spider-Verse saw Gwen putting together a team to locate and save Miles, who is imprisoned on Earth-42, before Spider-Man 2099 captures him. The movie Beyond the Spider-Verse, which wraps up Miles’ narrative, was supposed to be released on March 29, 2024, but Sony took it off the schedule in July 2023. Beyond the Spider-Verse won’t be released until it is “ready,” according to creators Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who also stated that they are “already hard at work on it” and “will take the time it takes to make it great.” In addition to portraying Spider-Man 2099, Isaac is also in charge of giving the darker vigilante Moon Knight a life in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the self-titled Disney+ series for the character, which had its first season premiere early in 2022, Isaac made his acting debut as Moon Knight. While a second season of Moon Knight has not yet been approved, Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, recently stated that Isaac’s titular superhero will make a comeback in upcoming MCU projects. “The fun thing about streaming is that they are there forever, and people can keep re-exploring them,” Feige added. “Same thing with Moon Knight. As time goes on, I believe that character will have a future.
