Remarkable deleted scenes for Ant-Man 3 are revealed

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, the latest installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, received a surprising announcement regarding its home release. Marvel Studios confirmed that only two deleted scenes will be included in the home release, which will feature the Quantum Realm hero Veb, portrayed by David Dastmalchian in his second MCU role.

The first deleted scene will expand on the moment when Scott Lang, portrayed by Paul Rudd, first drinks the ooze that allows him to communicate with the freedom fighters in the Quantum Realm. The second scene will highlight Veb’s excitement when he discovers that he has holes after being shot in the final battle.

Fans were surprised by the limited number of deleted scenes included in the home release, especially given the number of major scrapped moments that have already come to light through interviews with the cast and crew. For instance, Evangeline Lilly’s real-life son almost had a moment to shine in Ant-Man 3 with a scene that showed Hope van Dyne with a family before it was cut.

Jeff Loveness, the movie’s writer, stated that this sequence was “Hope’s perspective on the Multiverse” and that it may be used again in a future Avengers movie. Loveness also revealed that there was additional material with Kang the Conqueror that ended up hitting the chopping block, which would have expanded on his backstory further in the third Ant-Man movie.

Despite the number of moments removed or adjusted to help the story flow better, Marvel does not appear to be looking to share many of those moments for the time being. While the reasons for this decision are unclear, it is worth noting that Marvel movies have gotten mostly shorter in length recently.

However, fans can look forward to David Dastmalchian’s own backstory that he came up with for his new hero outside of what was shown on the big screen. With countless other stories coming from other areas of the Multiverse Saga, it may be some time until this threequel is revisited again, especially as Kang continues to lurk in the shadows.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is currently in theaters, and its digital release is set for Tuesday, April 18. While fans may be disappointed by the limited number of deleted scenes in the home release, there is still plenty to enjoy in the third Ant-Man movie.
