There are rumours that Mac Gargan, played by Michael Mando, may appear in another Marvel movie as Scorpion. Mando’s Mac Gargan will eventually make a comeback to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, according to reliable scooper MyTimeToShineHello. Six years have passed since Mando made his one and only debut as the beloved Spider-Man antagonist in the 2017 film Spider-Man: Homecoming. The most likely candidate for Spider-Man 4, which was in production at Marvel Studios and Sony before the WAG and SAG-AFTRA strikes, is the MCU picture in which Scorpion will make a comeback. In the 2017 Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, Spider-Man encountered Mando, who is arguably best recognised for his role as Nacho Varga in Better Call Saul, as a supporting adversary. He last seen in the post-credits sequence of the movie asking Adrian Toomes/Vulture, played by Michael Keaton, about Spider-Man’s hidden identity. The MCU fans and Gargan both took note of the character’s absence from Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021).
It has been five years since Spider-Man: Homecoming, and they have done without him since, the actor shared a fan’s X (previously Twitter) post in July 2022. The post featured a picture of Mando as Mac Gargan with the remark, “It has been five years since Spider-Man: Homecoming.” Mando’s resharing of the article implies that the actor sympathises with the fans’ dissatisfaction with Gargan’s lack of character growth. MacDonald “Mac” Gargan, a fictional character created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, made his comic book debut in 1964’s The Amazing Spider-Man as a private eye hired by Daily Bugle editor-in-chief J. Jonah Jameson to find out how Peter Parker captured Spider-Man in action. After undergoing an experimental operation that left him with immovable armour with scorpion-themed decorations, precognitive scorpion-sense, and superhuman strength, speed, and endurance, Gargan made his comic book debut as the Scorpion in The Amazing Spider-Man. Sadly, the surgery made Gargan crazy, which prompted him to turn to crime and have several encounters with Spider-Man. The character made his live-action feature debut in Spider-Man: Homecoming. In December 2021, it was announced that a fourth Spider-Man movie was in the works and that Tom Holland had signed a contract to reprise his role as the beloved Webslinger. Although narrative specifics for Spider-Man 4 are still unknown, there have been rumours that the impending sequel may deal with the fallout from the upcoming Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again, which stars both Charlie Cox’s Man Without Fear and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin. In the 2021 movie Spider-Man: No Way Home, Cox’s Daredevil and Holland’s Spider-Man met while still using their civilian identities as Matt Murdock and Peter Parker.
