Rosario Dawson responds to Born Again casting speculation in Daredevil

Rosario Dawson of Daredevil recently addressed speculation that she may play Claire Temple in the Disney+ adaptation of the Netflix series, Daredevil: Born Again. In an interview, Dawson stated that she is not currently affiliated with Born Again. She stated, “People keep asking me whether I’ll be on Daredevil: Born Again. And I’m always thinking, “Well, Disney knows where I am.” In Daredevil Season 1, Dawson initially appeared as Temple, a nurse and friend of Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock. Later, she returned to the character for Season 2, and she also had cameos in the Marvel-inspired Netflix series Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders. Even if Claire Temple is a part of the story in Daredevil: Born Again, Dawson may not play the character, according to Marvel Studios, which has yet to openly address the matter. While Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, who played Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk, respectively, as the original Daredevil and Kingpin, have been rehired by Marvel Studios, it appears that other historic cast members like Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson were not. Woll said in a recent interview that she was not cast in Daredevil: Born Again and that Marvel Studios currently has “no plans” for her to resume the Karen Page role.

The actress insisted that she was still “grateful for the experience” of working on the previous series, further implying that there were no ill will between her and Marvel Studios over Daredevil: Born Again. Chris Brewster, Charlie Cox’s stuntman on the Netflix series, was more critical of Marvel Studios’ bosses, whom he said turned down his request to work on Daredevil: Born Again. Brewster said that despite Charlie’s repeated requests, Marvel Studios had no interest in hiring him. Brewster went on to criticise the Man Without Fear’s cameos in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, saying the reimagined Daredevil in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is already suffering from his absence. If you watch She-Hulk, Daredevil has been made into a cartoon. Brewster added, “It’s all animated and it looks horrible. “I love using CG to accentuate genuine movement, but without any real movement, the scene just becomes a cartoon, you know? The action on Daredevil was once so excellent because it was visceral, but now it’s all CG and lacks weight.
