Secret Invasion: Marvel’s lowest-rated series and the absence of a post-credits scene explained by its director.

All of Secret Invasion’s episodes have been made available by Marvel Studios on Disney+, but some viewers appear to be growing weary of the Marvel universe. The series has one of the studio’s lowest ratings on Rotten Tomatoes due to its unfavourable critical reception. Marvel Studios revealed important information during Secret Invasion, including the debut of a character with extraordinary strength and the knowledge that James “Rhodey” Rhodes (Don Cheadle) had been a Skrull for a considerable amount of time. A post-credits sequence was, however, conspicuously absent, and the series’ director, Ali Selim, explains why.

Selim said in a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter that he was not aware of any post-credits sequences while Secret Invasion was being made. Although he acknowledged that there may have been talks taking place in the higher offices in which he was not engaged, from his point of view, the plot looked to come to a satisfying conclusion, negating the need for a post-credits sequence. In Marvel films, post-credits sequences are typically used to hint at forthcoming events or wrap up certain plotlines, but it seems the writers of Secret Invasion thought the story could have been wrapped up without one.

In a recent interview with The Wrap, Selim said that Marvel Studios only requested him to build up two crucial components for Secret Invasion. Rhodey was told that it would be advantageous if his legs didn’t function since Nick Fury had to ascend inside the spaceship. Even though the series lacked a post-credits sequence, it played a significant part in setting up the future events of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since these setups were necessary for subsequent plots.
