In her most recent Multiversal adventure, Spider-Gwen is facing up against a fearsome mutant hero that is a fan favourite. The main character in Spider-Gwen: Smash, along with the rest of her companions, are back on the road with none other than the Uncut Gems, a band led by the mutant superstar Alison Blaire, also known as the Dazzler. Sadly, it turned out that Gwen and The Mary Janes, her own band, were really there so the hero could behave more like a bodyguard than a support act. According to the tale, Dazzler has been under the Hulk’s torture lately on Earth-65. Even worse, the Dazzler’s most recent attack came after one by Megan Gwynn, a.k.a. Pixie, a fellow mutant and former bandmate. The Pixie of the main Marvel Universe first appeared in comic books in Nunzio DeFilippis, Christina Weir, and Michael Ryan’s 2004 issue of New X-Men. Megan was raised by her grandparents in a remote area of Wales, away from prying eyes, as the offspring of the legendary mutant criminal Jason Wyngarde, also known as Mastermind, and maybe the fae known only as Mrs. Gwynn. As Megan’s mutant abilities became apparent in her teenage years, she acquired her recognisable iridescent wings and a quick aptitude for flight.
Following her enrollment at the Xavier Institute, Megan forged a close friendship with Rahne Sinclair, a.k.a. Wolfsbane, the former New Mutant and mentor of hers. Along with these strong interactions, Megan made a lot of friends in her class, most of whom were relatively new to the programme. Pixie may have a modest look, but her innate affinity for the Mystic Arts and her hallucinogenic dust make her a dangerous combatant on any battlefield. She also enabled herself to create a significant position on Krakoa. Other than the knowledge that she was formerly a member of the Uncut Gems and that Dazzler asked her to leave for an unknown reason, not much is known about the Pixie of Earth-65. This Pixie’s brow has taken on a unique shade of green that her counterpart from the main Marvel Universe has never shown, suggesting that she has been impacted in some manner by her proximity to or professional association with the Hulk in their reality.
