What the dynamic of the Spider-Men would be like may be inferred from Peter Parker’s voice in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Since the first PlayStation 4 game, Yuri Lowenthal has provided the voice of Peter Parker. He also appeared intermittently in the Miles Morales-focused spinoff on PlayStation 5. The Spider-Men will be tested in a variety of ways for the next sequel. Lowenthal mentioned in an interview how enjoyable it has been to work with Miles’ voice actor across these games. “I mean, Nadji and I have been friends since that first game now. I’ve had the opportunity to witness Nadji mature, come into his own, and really tune into his strength and who he is much as Peter did with Miles in this game.
It will alter sometimes throughout the campaign how Peter and Miles interact: “I enjoy seeing that connection play out in the game because the first game was more Pete’s game, the second game was definitely more Miles’ game, and this one is really evenhanded. You really get to watch Miles grow into his own and truly stand in his authority on both of their great, incredible travels. As Pete loses his way and Miles needs to become quite heavy-handed, without giving too much away, he moves beyond mentorship and into harsh love at specific times throughout the game, the relationship tips. Although he didn’t state it directly, Lowenthal is probably alluding to the fact that Miles and others will have to rescue Peter from the Venom symbiote’s corrupting influence. The Symbiote Suit’s strength and how the alien invader is affecting Peter’s psyche to make him more hostile and violent have both been featured in several trailers. That’s not to suggest Miles Morales won’t have issues of his own to cope with. As he strives to manage becoming Spider-Man while going to college and keeping up a social life, his story will have many high points and down points. Also waiting for him is Mr. Negative, the villain from the first game who murdered his father. It could be Peter’s responsibility to talk him down from the cliff since what he does at that very time will define him. The Spider-Men will depend entirely on one another to survive the impending disaster.
