Spider-Man discovers Dr. Octopus’s secret identity and the risks it poses

Spread MCU News

Otto Octavius has resurrected several times in different bodies (including, for a brief while, in a cloned body of Peter Parker, but currently in a cloned version of his original body) after giving up control of Spider-Man’s body during the original Superior Spider-Man storyline ten years ago, which appeared to kill him. However, the recurring theme has been that he doesn’t remember the specific events that occurred while he was in Peter’s body, and in fact, doesn’t recall Spider-Man’s time spent in secret. our changed at the end of Superior Spider-Man’s first issue last month, and as you can see in our exclusive preview of next week’s issue, it implies problems for Spider-Man. The creator of Superior Spider-Man, Dan Slott, collaborates with penciler Mark Bagley, inker John Dell, letterer Joe Caramagna, and possibly colorist Edgar Delgado. The story picks up from the shocking conclusion of the first issue of this new series, in which Doctor Octopus’s spy drones capture Spider-Man changing back into his Peter Parker persona and report back to its master with information about it. Octavius’s recollections of temporarily assuming Peter Parker’s body and becoming Superior Spider-Man were all revealed to him when he saw the tape.

Spider-Man’s Spider-Sense was already going crazy because a formidable new villain named Super-Nova was attempting to kill him because of what Octavius had done to her when he was Spider-Man. This is why he changed into his secret identity in a way that someone might actually record him doing so—something that would normally set it off. Super-Nova didn’t know who he was behind the mask, so Peter reasoned that it would buy him some time while he figured out a way to defeat her. Peter quickly realised that Octavius was the source of her problem, but that didn’t give him much comfort in the moment. The preview pages show how badly Super-Nova is handling Spider-Man’s disappearance act and how she has chosen to bait him by endangering innocent people. She redirects her focus to Spider-Boy, reasoning that Spider-Man would have to want to come out of hiding to defend his own sidekick. As she expected, Peter attempts to act quickly to stop Super-Nova when he notices Spider-Boy in danger, even if it meant disclosing his identity to her. But before he can, the robotic arms of Doctor Octopus attack him. After capturing Peter Parker, Doctor Octopus admits that he is aware that Parker is Spider-Man! Now that Peter is aware of the truth about his background as Spider-Man, we will all need to watch closely the next week to discover what Octavius has planned for him.
