Despite months of speculation, Taylor Swift will not be appearing in the upcoming Marvel film “Deadpool and Wolverine.” This news comes after Entertainment Weekly exclusively confirmed that the pop star is not part of the cast.
The rumors began after a new IMAX poster for the movie was released, featuring Deadpool and Wolverine holding hands while wearing friendship bracelets, reminiscent of those from Swift’s recent tour. Additionally, fans noticed that Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool), Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), and director Shawn Levy were seen with Taylor Swift at a football game last October. This fueled speculation that Swift might even portray the mutant character Dazzler in the film.
However, it appears these were just rumors. Neither Levy nor Reynolds ever confirmed Swift’s involvement, and now Entertainment Weekly has definitively shut down the speculation. “Deadpool and Wolverine” is scheduled to hit theaters on July 26th.
