There are numerous outstanding film trilogies in the canon of cinema. It’s not always an easy approach to tell a tale since one of the episodes frequently falls short of the bar that the others have set. Given that it serves as the story’s bridge and frequently results in a darker tone as the characters are reduced to their lowest point as they prepare for the grand climax, it might be argued that the second chapter is really the most challenging to produce.

The Back to the Future trilogy storytelling format not only gives Across the Spider-Verse a structure, but it also puts up a few hints for what may occur in Beyond the Spider-Verse. For instance, Miles will probably have to bid his mentor Peter B. Parker a more permanent farewell. Doc Brown and Marty had to say their goodbyes after one final encounter in his steam-powered time machine. Marty also succeeds in saving Doc, but not in the manner he had anticipated. In his quest to save his father’s life, Miles could experience the same thing.
The fact that Across the Spider-Verse includes all the qualities that made the original movie so successful while also bringing a completely new cast of characters and depth to give it its own distinct tale and execution of a story that fits within a preexisting structure is part of what makes it so outstanding. It strikes a delicate balance while yet being a highly entertaining and moving film. Because Spider-Verse delves more deeply into Miles’ emotional and psychological struggle and progress than Marty’s character did in Back to the Future, it outperforms that film’s execution.
