The best character theory for Loki from season two is strengthened by recent Marvel information.

The best new character speculation for Loki season 2 is now much more plausible according to fresh information from Marvel Studios. The God of Mischief, who will once again be portrayed by Tom Hiddleston, will be accompanied by the TVA’s Agent Mobius (Owen Wilson) and Loki’s own doppelgänger Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino). Ke Huy Quan, who will portray a new agent at the TVA, is one of the new characters who will be making their debut. According to the Loki season 2 teaser, Quan’s new character OB is the TVA agent in charge of Repairs and Advancements whom Agent Mobius turns to for assistance after discovering Loki to be afflicted with a condition known as “time-slipping.” The God of Mischief is being randomly bounced around time and space despite OB’s statements that this shouldn’t be feasible inside the TVA. But it’s probable that “OB” is merely a monicker for Ke Huy Quan’s new Loki.

Long-running rumours stated that Quan would portray Ouroboros in Loki season 2, a new figure at the Time Variance Authority who provided Loki and Mobius with new technology and devices, thus acting as the TVA’s James Bond “Q” counterpart. Naturally, these rumours are supported by the “OB” name revelation and his verified employment. As a result, it seems sense that OB will play a significant role in the events that follow the destruction of the Sacred Timeline as depicted in Loki’s first season finale, as well as aid Loki in understanding his “time-slipping” symptoms. The Ouroboros, a snake devouring its own tail in a circle, is a mythological creature with roots in ancient Greek and Egyptian mythology. Similar to Agent Mobius, whose name is taken from the mathematical surface known as the Mobius strip and its single continuous side (Tony Stark used an inverted Mobius strip to unlock time travel in Endgame), Ouroboros is meant to symbolise infinity and the cycles of life, death, and rebirth. The Ouroboros could, however, be much more significant to Loki himself.

The Oculus Ouroboros, a magical conduit, appears in the early Marvel comics. The Silver Surfer’s adversary Admiral Ouroboros is another villain. The most intriguing theory, however, relates to Loki himself and Norse mythology since Jörmungandr, also known as the World Serpent, is associated with the Ouroboros sign. According to Norse mythology, when the World Serpent lets go of its own tail, the end-of-the-world catastrophe known as Ragnarök will take place. The World Serpent was also a child of Loki, therefore the name Ouroboros could allude to a closer bond that Loki and OB would have in the upcoming season. Regardless, whenever Loki season 2 starts streaming on October 6th, it’s extremely likely that Ke Huy Quan’s “OB” may be more evil than he looks.
