Nia DaCosta, the director of Marvels, revealed that Christopher Nolan and James Gunn served as inspiration for the MCU film. DaCosta revealed how she developed her idea for the superhero movie when she initially pitched it to Marvel Studios, as The Marvels makes their way into theatres. The budding director disclosed in an interview that she took a lot of influence for her The Marvels concept from James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy series and Christopher Nolan’s critically acclaimed 2014 science fiction picture Interstellar. DaCosta praised her first high-profile film, saying, “It’s so interesting because it’s so specific to Marvel, and also it has so many specific things happening, and we have these characters coming together.” I believe that it has a really distinctive tone. However, when I was considering this movie, I couldn’t help but think of other movies that I really like. “As a movie that unites these various characters inside the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I absolutely adore Guardians. She went on, “I adore how emotional and humorous it is. “That was encouraging to me since I’m a huge fan of James’s work, both inside and outside the MCU. And then there are films like Interstellar, which I loved watching because I adore space and what Christopher Nolan created with it was absolutely amazing.”

In addition to citing Gunn and Nolan’s writings, DaCosta has previously acknowledged that The Marvels was influenced by combat scenes from the 2005 video game film Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, pointing out that this genre offers a distinct viewpoint. In my opinion, it stems from the finest tales and games available, which motivates me to play and, I believe, encourages others to watch films like this one. Early reviews of The Marvels have given the superhero team-up film a good Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes, with a current rating of 85% based on over 500 verified ratings, while being on course to become one of the lowest-grossing films in the MC. Still, reviews for the movie have been wildly inconsistent thus far. While some have praised it as an exciting action flick, others have found the storyline to be very unappealing. Furthermore, practically every critic concurs that one of the movie’s greatest moments was Iman Vellani’s portrayal of Ms. Marvel. Oscar winner Brie Larson, whose most recent role was in the post-credits sequence in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, is back in The Marvels, reprising her role as Captain Marvel. Vellani’s Ms. Marvel and Teyonah Parris’ Captain Monica Rambeau, who formerly appeared in Disney+ series produced by Marvel Studios, are going on this intergalactic journey with her. The three main characters in the movie have to cooperate after realising that their abilities have been mixed up. They must confront the fury of a Kree rebel who is out to get revenge on Captain Marvel in order to find a solution to their predicament.
