Many Marvel fans on social media believe that it’s now time to cast Cillian Murphy as Doctor Doom. Marvel Studios formally revealed the Fantastic Four movie’s cast on Wednesday. Pedro Pascal plays Reed Richards, Ebon Moss-Bachrach plays Ben Grimm, Vanessa Kirby plays Sue Storm, and Joseph Quinn plays Johnny Storm. Although there haven’t been any casting announcements for the movie’s adversary, it’s been suggested that Doctor Doom would play the role. Fans have been reacting on social media with a fresh push for Murphy to portray the evil supervillain, believing that there is still a possibility to fulfil one much anticipated casting choice.

The fact that Cillian Murphy has said that he’s open to playing the part will boost his chances of getting the part. Murphy has been questioned about it directly since fans have been cheering for the ideal casting for a long. When the topic was brought up again in 2023 on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, he indicated that he would be open to it—but only if he was satisfied with the screenplay. “The screenplay is always important… You never know,” stated Murphy. “This industry is so erratic and crazy… You never know what could surface. There is some experience Cillian Murphy has as a prominent supervillain. Murphy returned to the Scarecrow character in Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins and The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. He hasn’t, however, yet made it into the MCU. He most recently worked with Nolan again on the hugely popular movie Oppenheimer. Murphy may win the Academy Award for Best Actor for this performance. Despite being a well-known supervillain, Doctor Doom has not yet appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Over the years, the character has appeared in several animated projects, but not many live-action ones. In Roger Corman’s unfinished FantasticFour film from the early 1990s, Joseph Culp portrayed Doctor Doom; subsequently, Julian McMahon would play a fresh iteration in the 2005 film and its 2007 sequel. The part would be assumed by Toby Kebbell in the 2015 remake movie.
