The Marvels director reveals Kamala Khan’s age in the upcoming MCU film.

Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel will be the same age in the next Marvel Cinematic Universe movie as she was in her premiere Disney+ series, according to The Marvels director Nia DaCosta. Kamala will be 16 in The Marvels, the same age the fan-favorite heroine was in Ms. Marvel, according to a statement made by DaCosta in an interview. However, it seems likely that Kamala would still be the same age considering that Ms. Marvel’s mid-credits sequence established the character’s place in the upcoming The Marvels. Iman Vellani, who was 19 when she appeared in The Marvels, is now 21.

As part of their separate arcs from Captain Marvel, WandaVision, Ms. Marvel, and Secret Invasion, Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), and Kamala Khan (Vellani), as well as Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), are the main characters of The Marvels. Carol Danvers, or Captain Marvel, has recovered her identity from the oppressive Kree and exacted retribution on the Supreme Intelligence in the upcoming MCU film. However, unanticipated consequences force Carol to bear the weight of a cosmos in disarray. The synopsis adds, “When her responsibilities take her to a weird wormhole connected to a Kree revolutionary, her abilities interweave with those of Ms. Marvel, a Jersey City superfan, and Captain Monica Rambeau, Carol’s estranged niece and a S.A.B.E.R. astronaut. To preserve the universe as The Marvels, this odd three will have to band together and learn how to cooperate.

Vellani makes her second appearance as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel in The Marvels. While Marvel Studios has not specified a new appearance date for the character, some fans continue to hold out hope that it will be in Ms. Marvel’s upcoming second season. The show’s first season premiered on Disney+ in June and July of 2022. Sana Amanat, the show’s producer, urged fans to keep pushing for a second season at San Diego Comic-Con 2023, saying it is “great to see more demand.” Loki, starring Tom Hiddleston, and the animated What If…?, which explores other possibilities within the MCU’s Multiverse, are the only Marvel Disney+ programmes to far to earn second seasons. Along with Larson, Parris, Vellani, and Jackson, other MCU actors who starred in Ms. Marvel and reprised their roles in The Marvels include Saagar Shaikh, Zenobia Shroff, and Mohan Kapur as Kamala’s older brother Aamir, mother Muneeba, and father Yusuf, as well as Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau and Randall Park as Jimmy Woo. In the planned sequel, actors Daniel Ings, Colin Stoneley, Shamier Anderson, Abraham Popoola, Ffion Jolly, Caroline Simonnet, Jessica Zhou, and Gary Lewis will make their MCU debuts. Zawe Ashton will portray Dar-Benn, the movie’s main antagonist.
