Iman Vellani, star of The Marvels, talked about how, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Young Avengers will vary from the original Avengers. In an interview, Vellani hinted that the Young Avengers squad in the MCU will be made up of characters that are far more humane and grounded than their older counterparts. Vallani believes that the Young Avengers would approach their superhero duties differently because Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel and the other members of the team grew up idolising superheroes and living in a world where global threats could occur at any time.”They have perspectives that the older Avengers don’t, especially because they’ve had to deal with the repercussions, but they’re also a fan of the older Avengers,”she added. Therefore, I believe they can truly create something fresh with this team. It will definitely be far more useful than the Avengers were, in my opinion.”
Vellani went on, “Because they are a part of it, they feel like the group that will comprehend humanity and the worth of human life far more than I believe the elder group does. There, they are in relationships. They have mentors and idols, they have friends, and they attend school. And I believe that all of those connections will ground this group far more than having wealthy mentors and a person who was stuck in the 1940s. They therefore have a far greater awareness of reality.”
The Canadian actor also discussed her character’s possible Young Avengers participation, which was initially hinted at at the conclusion of The Marvels. Kamala is a “natural-born leader,” according to Vellani, who may serve as the “glue” of the group. Vellani continued, “I think Kamala leading might also set the tone in a really wonderful way.” Because of her maturity, intelligence, and wealth of knowledge about being a superhero and working in a team that is optimal and beneficial to all, she is not just the glue that holds the Marvels together, but she may also be the glue that holds the younger Avengers group together.
