Marvel fans, rejoice! The highly-anticipated Disney+ show centered around Paul Bettany’s Vision is moving forward with new updates. Titled “Vision Quest,” the series has recently added two new writers, Megan McDonnell and Peter Cameron, to its team, according to a listing on the Writers Guild of America website.
For those who may not be aware, Vision is an android character from Marvel Comics, who was first introduced in Avengers #57 in 1968. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Vision was created by Ultron in Avengers: Age of Ultron and eventually fell in love with Wanda Maximoff, also known as Scarlet Witch, in Captain America: Civil War. The duo’s relationship was explored further in the recent Disney+ series, WandaVision, which left fans eager for more.
Since WandaVision’s finale, there have been rumors of a spin-off show centered around Vision. “Vision Quest” is said to explore more of Vision’s story and will likely tie into the larger MCU narrative. The series is also rumored to feature other characters from the comics, including some related to Vision.
The addition of writers McDonnell and Cameron to “Vision Quest” should be reassuring to fans, especially those who enjoyed WandaVision. McDonnell previously wrote for episodes 3 and 4 of the show, while Cameron co-wrote episodes 5 and 6. Both writers are also familiar with the MCU, as they have worked on other Marvel projects, such as Moon Knight and The Marvels.
The familiarity that McDonnell and Cameron have with the MCU should work to the advantage of “Vision Quest.” It means that the writers can incorporate story elements from previous shows seamlessly, making for a more cohesive narrative. Additionally, since the episodes they worked on for WandaVision heavily featured Wanda and Vision’s kids, it’s a good sign for the rumored set-up of the Young Avengers.
As of now, there is no official release date for “Vision Quest.” However, the addition of new writers to the team suggests that the show is moving forward and that we can expect more updates in the near future. Marvel fans can’t wait to see what’s in store for Vision and the rest of the MCU in this exciting new series.
