The showrunner explains why Agatha has never had post-credits scenes

The show ended with Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) and Billy Maximoff/Wiccan (Joe Locke) going out to find Billy’s twin, Tommy. It’s unclear where the characters will appear next, but it’s likely that Billy’s story will continue in Vision Quest. As a result, it’s odd that there isn’t a more obvious clue about the next Marvel Cinematic Universe project, whether or not it stars Wiccan. However, showrunner Jac Schaeffer stated that the decision to forego a post-credit scene came from the top. As she said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, she “wrote a number of post-credit scenes,” something she has “done on every Marvel project she’s ever worked on.” The post-credit sequence, Schaeffer continued, is “the thing that changes the most and goes the longest as a question mark until you’re finally confronted with it.” “In the end, it was a Marvel decision not to have a tag on this show,” Schaeffer said when the time came to shoot.

Although Agatha All Along should have had a post-credit sequence, the MCU is now undergoing change. Indeed, Vision Quest is taking place, and Billy may be there next. But it’s unclear what the MCU’s magical faction will do next. Not revealing Billy’s future destination could be a deliberate decision to give the franchise’s creators flexibility in deciding where to use him. Nevertheless, when it was revealed that Kang would not be making a comeback in the summer of 2024, the MCU made a sharp shift to the left, and Avengers: Doomsday will be the next crossover film. Robert Downey Jr., who previously starred in the MCU as Iron Man/Tony Stark, will return in that movie as Victor Von Doom. It’s probable that the decision-makers wanted to wait until the franchise’s next phase was confirmed before teasing it.

Alternatively, there could not be anything to tease because Billy is unrelated to the upcoming MCU initiatives. It’s possible that Wiccan hasn’t shot any more sequences for the MCU yet. Furthermore, even though Agatha is the Richards’ nanny in the comics, neither Billy nor her are expected to appear in Captain America: Brave New World or The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The MCU might not have released a teaser following Agatha All Along since they had nothing related to the series to promote.
