During the 2023 Game Awards ceremony, Marvel unveiled the announcement teaser for their game, Marvel’s Blade. A new adult, single-player, third-person game based on the legendary superhero Blade will be developed in partnership with developer Arkane Lyon (Deathloop, Dishonoured), according to a cooperation announced by Marvel Games and Bethesda Softworks. The game, Blade, is being developed by Arkane Lyon and will include an original plot along with the immersive gameplay that the company is known for. Fans can get a glimpse of what to anticipate from the upcoming game Marvel’s Blade with this short but thrilling teaser, which shows the title character, Daywalker, shaving before getting ready for action at the first sign of impending danger.
Marvel claims that “Players will be transported to a confined area of Paris during a supernatural crisis in Marvel’s Blade game.” The city of lights is being terrorised by the emergence of vampires, which is why Parisians are being forced to spend the night inside their houses until dawn.” Bill Rosemann, Vice President and Creative Director of Marvel Games, is thrilled to be working with Arkane Lyon on the Blade game. We have discovered Arkane Lyon, a company of uncompromising artists that consistently push the frontiers of game design and creativity, to be the ideal fit for the Daywalker in honour of Blade’s 50th anniversary, he added. This cooperation is a wonderful fit because of their award-winning ability, personal enthusiasm, and audacious vision for our half-human, half-vampire iconoclast,” Rosemann continued.
Dinga Bakaba, the game director at Arkane Lyon, is looking forward to the task of crafting a distinctive narrative for Blade, a character he identifies with. He said that as a child of mixed ancestry, he had a unique bond with Blade because the hero himself was of dual heritage. “My dream is to be able to give this character our unique touch, and our team is excited about the challenge.” We are ecstatic to see gamers step into Blade’s shoes as he wins my hometown of Paris, one stake at a time.” Co-creative and art director at Arkane Lyon Sebastien Mitton is excited about the chance to push the creative envelope that Marvel’s Blade gives the development. “From his trench coat to his iconic sunglasses, Blade is a slick, stylish, and driven character,” he stated. “This project is the ideal chance to further develop Arkane’s striking and contemporary aesthetic. The intersection of ground-breaking concepts and cutting-edge expertise is where our work really happens.”
