Avengers: Secret Wars’ potential duration is revealed by a recent report. A recent insider tip from Jeff Sneider (TheInSneider) dated December 20 states that Avengers: Secret Wars has an enormous five hours of running time; in fact, the tale is supposed to be divided into two films. This confirms earlier-in-the-year Marvel rumours, since the source now character it as “a giant five-hour movie with a year-long interval.” This implies that Avengers: Secret Wars Part 2, which is currently scheduled for May 7, 2027, will arrive shortly after. They would also immediately follow May 1, 2026’s Avengers 5, which might no longer be known as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Although nothing has been formally confirmed by Marvel Studios as of yet, this is merely a rumour that is sparking a lot of internet fan conversation.
With Avengers: Secret Wars currently expected to run about 2.5 hours each film, it comes quite close to the length of Avengers: Endgame, providing plenty of time to confirm the MCU reboot rumours fueled by remarks made about Marvel Studios CEO Kevin Feige. The recent casting change of Jonathan Majors, who portrayed the significant MCU enemy Kang the Conqueror, is one of the main elements influencing Secret Wars. Majors was unceremoniously sacked by Marvel on December 18, 2023, following his conviction for assault and harassment. Even though John Boyega has a large fan base, his most recent remarks didn’t inspire much hope. Moreover, TheInSneider refuted any hints that Will Smith was a possible candidate, labelling them as “Utter nonsense” in a recent X post. Iman Vellani, star of The Marvels, has also discussed her notion regarding Kang’s part in Secret Wars, offering one method Majors could be subtly removed from the narrative.
