Who will play Doctor Octopus in Spider-Man: Freshman Year has been made public by Marvel. The cast list for the key characters from the first episode of Freshman Year was discovered by The Direct. Otto Octavius, who will be voiced by Hugh Dancy, is one of them. Dancy is well-known for his role as Will Graham in the NBC television series Hannibal as well as for his work on the revivals of Law & Order, Black Hawk Down, and Elizabeth I. Alfred Molina, who played Doc Ock in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Sony’s Spider-Man 2 respectively, earlier joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Doc Ock.
Also confirmed by the listing is Hudson Thames’ return to the What If…? franchise as Peter Parker’s voice actor for Freshman Year. Along with Eugene Byrd as Lonnie Lincoln, Grace Song as Nico Minoru, Kari Wahlgren as Aunt May, and Zeno Robinson as Harry Osborn, these actors are also included in the cast. These actors join Charlie Cox, who has already said that he will return to the Daredevil series as Matt Murdock. It is also rumoured that Vincent D’Onofrio will reprise his role as Wilson Fisk/The Kingpin in the series. The movie Spider-Man: Freshman Year, which was announced in November 2021, would follow Peter Parker in his first year of college at Midtown School for Science and Technology as well as the beginning of his heroic superhero career. The series will track how Peter’s life is “forever changed by events that send him on a journey like no other while getting ready for his High School orientation,” according to a summary from the copyright filing. We learn that Spider-Man’s new era starts here in the pilot episode. A second season of Freshman Year has already been ordered.
Freshman Year will take place in a continuity distinct from the main MCU, according to Marvel’s Head of Streaming Brad Winderbaum. “It follows the pattern that you see in Captain America: Civil War,” he said.
