Actor Tom Holland, a veteran of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and star of Spider-Man, has disclosed the requirements for him to take on the role again in Spider-Man 4. According to sources, Holland disclosed during a press conference hosted by the Critic’s Choice Association that he and Marvel Studios have been actively discussing the possible direction of a fourth version of his character. He added that “finding a way to do justice” to Spider-Man is another matter entirely. He then added, “I feel like I’m protecting Spider-Man a lot.” “I want to preserve his legacy, and I feel really fortunate that we were able to work on a series that, in my opinion, is quite uncommon—one that became better and more popular with each film. I hereby promise not to create another one just for the pleasure of doing so. It must be worthwhile for the character to invest their time on.” Holland went on to say that since Spider-Man 4 depends on the Wall-Crawler for everything, he would be “a fool not to put the suit back on again” if they can figure him out. Holland said, “I love the character and the people I get to work with.” I thus want to share another story, but only if it is the appropriate one.

Coincidentally, Holland had previously expressed doubts about continuing with the film, saying, “There’s a part of me that wants to walk away with my head held high and pass the baton to the next lucky kid that gets to bring this character to life.” I feel like we hit a home run with our first franchise. Regarding Spider-Man 4, Marvel Studios President and CCO Kevin Feige stated in February that Marvel had “big ideas for that,” despite the lack of narrative information for the film. Feige claimed that the story for Spider-Man 4 was finalised. Regarding the release date, while Tom Rothman, the chairperson of Sony Pictures Entertainment, stated in December 2022 that Spider-Man 4 will indeed happen, he did not specify when audiences might anticipate seeing it. Serve wine only when it’s appropriate.” Furthermore, even though the identity of Spider-Man 4’s antagonist is still unknown, Vincent D’Onofrio, Holland’s fellow MCU veteran and the voice of Kingpin, has stated that he would want to see Wilson Fisk serve as the film’s primary antagonist in 2022, saying that he wanted it “as much as everybody does.”
