With an infamous Marvel Cinematic Universe record at the box office, The Marvels officially finishes its run in other countries as the superhero movie fails to generate much attention. Records show that the Captain Marvel sequel ended with a $205.8 million global box office haul, falling short of its $275 million budget. Consequently, The Marvels has officially surpassed the previous record established by 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, which brought in $264.8 million, to become the lowest-earning MCU big-screen film ever. Just $84.5 million of The Marvels’ total worldwide receipts came from North American theatres; the remaining $121.3 million came from other markets. What was predicted in reports from last December is supported by the most recent box office update. Less than a month after its release, Disney ceased providing weekly box office data for The Marvels, as the movie deviated even more from the top of the charts following its opening weekend, which also produced the lowest return for an MCU picture ever.
