Fans now get a first look at the Wolverine from the X-Men ’97 revival show sans his mask thanks to recently released photographs of the action figure. A small number of pictures of the new Wolverine figurine have been made public. Three replaceable heads are included with the figure, including two mask versions and an uncovered head. Due to the fact that X-Men ’97 is a revival series, the unmasked Wolverine resembles him in the original animation quite well, even down to his recognisable hairdo that resembles the wings of his mask. Another indication that the revival is keeping X-Men ’97 as close to X-Men: The Animated Series as possible while updating it to look its best on contemporary, high-definition television sets.
In X-Men ’97, Wolverine will also sound familar. After portraying Logan in X-Men: The Animated Series, Cal Dodd reprises his role as the character’s voice actor. Lenore Zann (Rogue), George Buza (Beast), Alison Sealy-Smith (Storm), Christopher Britton (Mister Sinister), and others are among the returning cast members. The animation is similarly comparable, bringing back the traditional 2D aesthetic, although it will seem much more sharply than the 1990s version of the programme. According to FreakSugar, Dodd stated of returning as Wolverine for the new series, “I’m beside myself,” further hinting at how fantastic the project appears to be. “I saw some of the animation, I tell you. It is amazing. I’m really excited for you guys to witness how I was just built. The animation is fantastic. Returning for this position was like chopping off my left arm. It’s rather strange how suddenly Logan vanished from my life. This was revived by the fans. And Disney is to be credited for the relaunch of this. Like my brother’s back, sort of. It feels like having my arm reattached.
The first five seasons of X-Men: The Animated Series aired from 1992 to 1997 before coming to an end without a fitting conclusion. The moniker X-Men ’97 refers to a continuation of the original television series. Disney+ executives also appear to have high expectations for the comeback, since it has been suggested that a second season of the programme is being prepared. Hugh Jackman will return to the character of Wolverine from the X-Men films for the upcoming sequel Deadpool 3, in which he will don a more comic-accurate outfit. Wolverine is also returning to the big screen.
