It appears like Marvel Studios will be giving Magneto a well-earned break in the forthcoming relaunch of the X-Men franchise, since he has acted as the primary antagonist in nearly every film in the franchise. Magneto is not anticipated to be the primary antagonist in Marvel Studios’ upcoming X-Men revival, according to an insider claim. Currently, though, Mister Sinister is the best option for upsetting the adored mutant squad. Marvel Animation may be utilising the animated reimagining of X-Men ’97 to introduce viewers to Minister Sinister prior to his live-action debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, because the fan-favorite villain has been revealed to be one of the key antagonists in the series. Despite nearly playing the role in The New Mutants, Jon Hamm has not yet made an appearance in a live-action X-Men film. This is Mister Sinister.
Marvel Studios has been gradually reintroducing mutants into the MCU after regaining the rights to the X-Men in 2019. Figures like Professor X, Beast, and Namor may be seen in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and The Marvels, respectively. It was also revealed that Ms. Marvel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a mutant rather than an Inhuman. Writers’ proposals for Marvel Studios’ X-Men revival have also been received. The X-Men remake is yet undetermined, so the studio doesn’t seem to be in a rush to fill the role, although it will supposedly be filled by early 2024.In November 2023, Eric Martin, the showrunner of Loki, indicated interest in working on the project and suggested that the studio should take an introspective look. He said, “I think everybody’s probably chasing after X-Men because I think that’s where the richest characters are. “However, who knows? That’s a choice that belongs to someone else. Naturally, I would love to collaborate on additional MCU projects as long as Marvel is satisfied. Marvel has really transformed my life by having faith in me to pen Loki Season 2.It was a big responsibility, and I hope I’ve lived up to the confidence.”
With the release of X-Men in 2000, which starred Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, and Halle Berry among others, the X-Men’s voyage on the big screen officially started. Two straight sequels, X2 (2003) and X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), as well as two spinoffs, X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) and The Wolverine (2013), were released in the wake of the critically and economically successful film. Before bringing the new and old stars together in 2014 with X-Men: Days of Future Past, the franchise was first revived in 2011 with a younger ensemble in X-Men: First Class. After Days of Future Past, Fox released X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) and Dark Phoenix (2019) to carry on the prequel storyline, and Logan (2017) was Wolverine’s third and last feature. After his appearance in Origins: Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth made a reappearance in Deadpool (2016) and Deadpool 2 (2018), two separate films. The New Mutants (2020), a box office disaster, was the last X-Men movie to be released by 20th Century Fox. Deadpool & Wolverine, a film from Marvel Studios that will include the titular mutants into the MCU, will carry on some aspects of the 20th century X-Men Universe.
