Erik Davis: By far the creepiest, gnarliest, zaniest, most haunting & terrifying Marvel movie, #MultiverseOfMadness definitely brings the Sam Raimi horror vibes, and I loved that about it. Danny Elfman’s music is a perfect fit for the film’s odd, mysterious tone & Elizabeth Olsen is MVP, imo. I most enjoyed how ambitious #DoctorStrange📷 is. How it swings for the fences & how it’s lighter on humor & leans more into the evil of it all. That’s where Raimi really has some fun. Ultimately a film about being pulled toward darkness & the fight to keep it from engulfing us
Jeff Nelson (Screen Rant): #DoctorStrange #MultiverseOfMadness is the most adrenaline-pumping and action-packed MCU movie yet. It’s Sam Raimi camp horror to the bone and worth every ounce of anticipation. A must-see for all lovers of horror, comics, and Raimi.
Steven Prusakowski (Screen Radar): Doctor Strange In The #MultiverseOfMadness is a time-bending, mind-warping, genre-crossing good time. Audiences prepare to lift your jaws off the floor several times over. It is gorier and darker than any MCU before it. It will leave you breathless. Xochitl Gomez is a standout.
Big Screen Leaks: #MultiverseOfMadness is the fever dream, action-packed movie only Sam Raimi could do. It takes the usual MCU formula, adds in the Multiverse, a few cameos, then cranks it up to 100. I loved every second. Xochitl Gomez and Lizzie Olsen were standouts within a star-studded cast.
Karl Delossantos (NY Times): DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS fully goes horror—jump scares, body horror, and a smattering of diabolical kills. It fits in the MCU but has Raimi’s deranged creepy campy groovy DNA all over it.
The Nerdy Basement: Sam Raimi brings his absolute best to the #MultiverseOfMadness giving us something fresh, unique, and unlike anything we’ve seen in the MCU before. Great action, utterly jaw dropping moments, emotional weight and comedy topped with Raimi’s signature horror touch! Phase 4 of the #MCU has brought a ton of unique flavors, Waldron and Raimi absolutely push that envelop even further with this film. Tons of Easter Eggs, references, nods, a good chunk of YES! moments, some lows that can’t be ignored but #MultiverseOfMadness delivers!
Eric Goldman: That Raimi directed this is clear in many delightful ways. It feels like the limits of what you can get away with in a PG-13 and I was very happy with how that manifested. It’s rather herky jerky but when it (often) embraces weird/wacky, it’s great
